Dean Banner – Managing Director
Since founding the company in 2000 I have been privileged to oversee our growth from humble beginnings, Banelec now has a secure place in the market. The key to our success has been our ability to offer a one-stop shop for all electrical control solutions, holding our customers hand from concept to completion. We have evolved with new technologies and embraced advances in the industry such as automation processes, Industry 4.0 and Internet of Things (IoT). We’ve been fortunate to have worked with some amazing customers and complete some extraordinary projects together, which is due to our longstanding loyal team at Banelec who never cease to amaze me with their ideas and enthusiasm, I can only thank them for making Banelec the success it is today.
Ian Bishop – Electrical and Offshore Engineer
Since joining the company in 2006 it has been really interesting to see the company evolve. Being involved so early on I have been a part of many changes; from its humble beginnings to helping to train new members of the team, moving with the company as it expanded through new premises, enjoying the journey to where the company is now. As the company has grown naturally so have the projects. Throughout my years with Banelec I have enjoyed seeing the scale of some of the projects on which we have been involved, from wiring maintenance decks for aeroplane engine manufacturers, to working on offshore projects all over the world, all making for a very interesting and varied career which I hope continues to go from strength to strength.
Jennie Banner – Office and Financial Manager
I joined the company in 2006 when Banelec was working from a small start up unit in Lye, with only 3 employees, but the amount of work soon saw the need for larger premises, re-locating to Wallows Road in Brierley Hill in 2009, the new premises served us well but with more increased growth and a few new faces to work with we again needed more space, bringing us to our current location in 2016. Having a fantastic team with great technical knowledge, my role has always been the steadying office influence ensuring the office runs smoothly and following orders from receipt to despatch but very much from behind the scenes. I feel privileged to have been so involved in Banelec’s journey so far and wouldn’t have missed a minute of it, and in Banelec’s 20th year I am very much looking forward to the next chapter.
Mark Ley – Workshop Manager
Since joining in 2012 I have watched Banelec expand and grow as a company and feel proud to have been part of this journey so far. My previous experience as a panel builder elsewhere showed me that most other companies are usually only proficient at supplying into one sector, it has been so satisfying to be able to work on such a variety of systems to function so differently for so many industries. Each project is always new and exciting, we never know what we will be working on next. The people are the backbone of any company but I feel our team is special, Banelec support apprenticeships and I have been lucky enough to see some apprentices work their way through and are now outstanding panel builders and field engineers.
Tony Waltho – Electrical Design and Ex Administrator
I joined Banelec in May 2012 and from a design perspective can honestly say no two days have been the same, on joining the company it immediately struck me how diverse Banelec’s electrical control systems have to be; to basically control any moving equipment in any industry, the variety of projects since I joined the company have been vast, which has made helping design the bespoke systems an interesting challenge. I personally have also taken responsibility for the Ex documentation and build calculations, and have enjoyed overseeing the relationship between Banelec and Bartec grow and Banelec achieve it’s ATEX QAN and IECeX QAR accreditation
Kelly Jones – Office Administrator
Since 2017 my role with Banelec has evolved as much as the company, no two days are ever the same as I speak to customers with their initial enquiries, help prepare their quotations, and when orders are received assist with ordering and receipting in parts for the manufacture of the control system. Liaising with the workshop along the way to check on progress I then report back to the customer to advise when goods will be despatched. In my time with the company I have seen the advances they have made within the automation industry and the challenges they have been handed, and have enjoyed my part in helping overcome these challenges.
Phil Taylor – Business Development Manager
Joining in March 2018 I am relatively new to the company but was immediately made to feel part of the family, my role to develop the business has been a joy. Banelec has much to offer across so many industries; it is relevant almost anywhere, but it is Banelec’s unique approach that customers seem to appreciate, the personal service from start to finish, helping customers reach their vision, and seeing everything through with them, makes Banelec an easy sell. With now being a registered Norwegian company, the new innovations of QR coding our panels and strides into Industry 4.0 I can only see bright things for Banelec’s future and am excited to be a part of it.
Sarah Dudley – Purchasing
Joining in January 2019 to oversee the purchasing for Banelec it was immediately clear that this was never going to be a dull job! With every project in-house being bespoke, and with installation engineers needing supplies on site there is always a challenge to be met. Fortunately the team at Banelec are extremely helpful; and all of the engineers have good knowledge which they are happy to share to help make my job easier.
