Conveyor Installation
Carrying out a mechanical and electrical installation project for a well-known parcel distributor at three UK sites.
The task
Banelec was tasked with completing installation work for a large parcel distributor at three sites in the United Kingdom. The project involved fitting a parcel conveyor system at each site, which included the installation of conveyors, control panels, trunking and electrical wiring.
The well-known parcel distributor required a conveyor system installation at a number of their sites across the UK, of which Banelec bid to carry out the installations at three and were successful due to their proven track record of delivering top-quality installations within tight deadlines.
Installation and Testing
After conducting a thorough assessment of the sites to understand layout requirements, Banelec engineers began each installation by fitting the control panels in the correct position in the facilities ready for the installation of the conveyor, fitting of trunking and running of cables along the length of the system. The panels were installed in locations throughout the site which allow for the operators to easily access them at all times.
The conveyors were then strategically placed to optimise the flow of parcels through the distribution centres, ensuring maximum efficiency and productivity. Once fitted in the optimum position, trunking was then carefully mounted down the centre of the conveyor in preparation for the cables to be run ready for our electrical engineers to connect the system to the panels.
Once the cables had been run the length of the trunking to where they were required, Banelec’s team of skilled electricians meticulously wired the entire system, using high-quality materials and following industry best practices to ensure optimal performance.
The finished installation was immaculate, with our engineers ensuring a neat and professional appearance while also making maintenance and repairs easier in the future. Upon completion we then continued to commission the system, with Banelec engineers visually inspecting all connections and conducting point to point wiring testing where applicable.
The result
Throughout the installation process, Banelec’s team communicated regularly with the customer to provide updates on the progress, address any concerns, and adjust as needed. The team worked tirelessly to meet the deadlines and deliver a fully functional conveyor system that met the client’s expectations.
After several weeks of hard work, Banelec successfully completed the installation of the parcel conveyor system at all three sites. All systems were thoroughly tested and inspected to ensure everything was working as intended. The client was impressed with the quality of the work and the professionalism of Banelec’s team.
