On the recent British Steel Limited 108m Rail Section Project Banelec was employed, as a strategic delivery design and build partner to deliver the mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, automatic and control (the full MEICA package).Through the detailed design phase Banelec were instrumental in collaborating with the professional consulting team and our clients engineering manager to ensure that the project specification was adhered to and completed through the process safety gateways, including the HAZOP and HAZCON processes. Banelec have been recognised and commended on their technical experience and competence from our respected client and specialist equipment manufacturers (i.e., Sthal Hoist, Rockwool, SGM Magnets to name a few). In the delivery phase from an operational perspective safety, time and commercial budget was focused on from the team and the end user. I must say that the collaboration and professionalism provided by the Banelec team resembled a specialist, competent contractor. Banelec were truly exceptional in their delivery approach, with some fantastic individuals. Having a Director on hand to assist really helped with the customer satisfaction and we felt like our project cared to Banelec, just as much as the project meant to ourselves as the Principal Contractor and our client British Steel.

I was impressed with the build quality, and the tidiness of the wiring was reminiscent of the work I saw at Stein Atkinson Stordy’s panel workshop in the early 1980s. Until we received this panel (with the exception of previous panels we had received from yourselves), I hadn’t seen anything comparable for quality build.

Right from first contact through to the on-site commissioning, Banelec were as all ways 100% professional and a pleasure to deal with. Both Dean and Stuart took time to understand our requirements and made a bespoke system that more than fulfilled all of our needs. JS made our control panel, and we have to say that his work is second to none. On receipt, it was clearly labelled, neat and tidy and even in fact he has set a benchmark for our engineers to follow! In 2018 in connection with the assembly of large Ex control- and distribution board panels we contacted Banelec as a potential partner to cooperate with, regarding hiring skilled electricians to do assembly in our work shop. For a period of 2-3 month the summer of 2019, we had the pleasure of getting to know quite a few of Banelec’ s technicians. In order to meet all requests, requirements and time schedules from the project, the time was essential. We found the partnership with Banelec both rewarding and very successful, and all the supplied technicians clearly showed that they were hard working, solution-oriented and independent. The Electrical assembly was performed in accordance with the requested standards and norms and they all showed great professional competence within their craftsmanship. It was a pleasure hosting these employees, and we would gladly do so again if the chance arises.
