One year on from celebrating a major milestone, Banelec Ltd is reflecting on a quarter-century of engineering innovation and international project delivery, as the company continues to support some of the world’s leading aerospace, defence, transport and oil & gas OEMs.
The Brierley Hill-based electrical control and systems engineering specialist marked its 25th anniversary in May 2025, commemorating a journey that began as a two-man operation designing electrical control panels for crane companies. Today, the business delivers complex automation systems, bespoke machinery, robotics integration and full turnkey engineering solutions for globally recognised manufacturers and operators.
Over the last 12 months, Banelec has continued to build on that legacy, supporting customers across critical industries where reliability, safety and engineering precision remain paramount.
Managing Director Dean Banner said the anniversary milestone provided an opportunity to reflect not only on the company’s growth, but also on the trust placed in the business by major international clients.
“Reaching 25 years in business gave us the opportunity to look back at how far we’ve come, from a small operation building control panels to a company now delivering highly specialised engineering systems for world-class manufacturers and OEMs,” he said.
“We’re incredibly proud of the projects we’ve delivered and the industries we support, particularly in aerospace, defence, transport and oil & gas, where engineering standards, safety and innovation are absolutely critical.”
Since its formation in 2000, Banelec has designed, manufactured, installed and commissioned systems across the world, working with major global names including Rolls-Royce plc, Jaguar Land Rover, GKN Aerospace, Chevron Corporation, BP and Aibel.
The company has become increasingly recognised for delivering bespoke solutions to complex engineering challenges, including advanced automation systems and specialist handling equipment for the aerospace sector.
One recent project saw Banelec design and manufacture a fan case lifter for a leading aircraft engine manufacturer, helping to establish a new benchmark for operational safety within aerospace production environments.
Dean Banner said the business has continued to evolve by combining traditional engineering expertise with modern automation and software development capabilities.
“Our strength has always been our ability to solve problems and engineer solutions around the specific needs of our customers,” he said.
“Whether it’s electrical controls, robotics integration, conveyor systems or bespoke machinery, we’ve built our reputation on delivering reliable, innovative systems that help our clients improve safety, efficiency and productivity.”
He added that the company remains focused on long-term investment in engineering capability, people and innovation as UK manufacturing continues to evolve.
“The last year has reinforced the importance of adaptability, technical expertise and strong customer relationships,” said Dean.
“We’ve built lasting partnerships with some of the biggest names in global industry, and we remain committed to delivering the quality and service standards that customers associate with Banelec.
“As we move forward, we’re excited about the opportunities ahead and the role we can continue to play in supporting advanced manufacturing both here in the UK and internationally.”
